Network Marketing http://www.leadfunnel1.com/?t=nmwhy175
Network marketing, or multi level marketing as it is sometimes called has been around for the last 50 plus years. But “scheme” is usually added after mlm giving the whole industry a bad name. Stay with me for a couple of minutes, while I explain.
The question could be asked, is that a fair and honest way to look at an industry that has over 1000 legally registered businesses in the US alone with over 65 million people involved in network marketing worldwide including more then 15 million Americans at any one moment. Every week, another 175,000 Americans join a network marketing company.
Could it possible be that most hard working Americans can appreciate working hard for what they earn, but to leverage their income off the labors of those that they sign-up, rings of fraudulent behavior. If true, network marketing would be no les legitimate then corporate America and the shenanigans on Wall Street. With that said, why the bad press and finger pointing at network marketing?
Historically the ill-founded criticism of network marketing has been focused at the similarity network marketing has to those illegal pyramid schemes of yesterday. Which is a shame as most network marketing companies are just as honest as Corporate America, Wall Street excluded.
Unfortunate as that is, network marketing is the perfect business model as each sales distributor is not only compensated for the sales they personally generate, but also for the sales of those they recruit. Thus each distributor becomes their own independent entrepreneur. That being said, network marketing is even endorsed by such notables as Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump. http://www.leadfunnel1.com/?t=nmwhy175
So what is a fair criticism of network marketing if there is one? To start with, only about 2%, maybe 3% actually make any decent money, but its not because network marketing companies don’t have sustainable comp plans, Amway for instance has been going for over 50 years.
There is a saying, “No one fails at network marketing they just quit.” And why is that? It is because most reps don’t treat network marketing as a real business. A real business requires, time, focus, and investment, with a consistent plan of action and a goal to aim for.
But the biggest reason for failure is that most reps are taught old school marketing, which means make a list of 100 of your friends and aquaintenances and start pitching your product. A few weeks later you have sifted through that list and your business has ground to a halt. All the help you got from your sponsor was, “Work your list.” I remember it was then on to spending thousands of dollars on mail outs, hundreds more on garbage leads, and in desperation I knocked on a thousand doors and only sold product to two ladies and signed no one up.
It was my good fortune to stumble onto a banner ad on attraction marketing, and it changed my way of doing marketing forever. I couldn’t believe in my good fortune and the difference it made in my business as leads started to flow into my in box.
