Were you one of those marketers when you first started. Check out these 5 MLM prospecting tips that will help you produce more recruits for your business.

MLM Prospects Tips #1: Patience. I know I have said this many times before but you must be patient with your MLM prospecting. You cannot go out and firehose your entire warm market with your opportunity. You have to find the prospects need. Find their why. It has to be their idea to start working your opportunity.

MLM Prospects Tips #2: Ask questions. What do they do for a living? Do they enjoy what they do? How did they get started in that line of work? Do they have a family? How are they doing? You need to dig a little. This is one of the great things about network marketing, you have to build relationships. These relationships may be some of the closest and most meaningful you will ever.

MLM Prospects Tips #3: Follow Up. If you meet someone for the first time, follow up with a phone call or make sure to find a way to meet them again. For example, let’s say you meet a parent at your kid’s soccer game. Make a point to search that person out at the next game and strike up another conversation. Just remember… it’s about them, not you. Ask more questions and listen.

MLM Prospects Tips #4: Approach based on the need. If you have a weight loss product and the person you have been talking to mentions they need to lose a little weight, bingo! There’s your approach. If they need a little extra money to pay for Sally’s college tuition, go with the business based approach. Approach the need. No firehosing!

MLM Prospects Tips #5: If you haven’t found the need then create more opportunities for engagement. Make sure you stay in touch with the people you meet. Keep a detailed list of your conversations. It’s critical to have multiple engagements with most prospects. It may take 2 conversations to find their need or it may take 20. It doesn’t matter, it will be worth it. You will be able to be comfortable with your approach and you will have a much better chance at keeping them interested.
