MLM Prospecting: How To Build Curiosity
One of the best things that you can do when you are MLM Prospecting is build curiosity.
Many network marketers just need some help in that department.
I made this video because of my previous video “The 2 C’s of Prospecting” (See it here: https://youtu.be/su4opJ-yLRk) The first C is to build curiosity.
I’ve used a very simple formula to build curiosity for many years.
I call it the WWO.
It stands for
Find out WHAT they want (usually it’s time or money)
Next find out WHY they want it.
Then if your product/service or opportunity can fulfill it then OFFER it to them.
What do they want?
So when you are talking with a prospect, talk about them and find out areas of dissatisfaction in their life. If they talk about a hobby that they like ask if they get to do it as much as they want. Chances are they don’t and build from there. They probably don’t have enough time or money to go fishing or travel or what ever their hobby is as much as they like.
If they say they don’t make enough money build from there. How much more money do they want to make?
Maybe they want to lose weight or look younger. Build on it.
Try to steer the conversation so that you are talking about a problem that your product/service or opportunity can solve.
Why do they want it?
If they want to make more money, ask them why they want more.
They may want to use it to travel, or bring their spouse home from work. They may need to assist their family members. Everyone has their own reason for wanting more money. They will share it with you if you ask and also if you share some of what you want as well.
If they want more time, same thing. Ask them why they want more. Maybe they want to go fishing more. Maybe they are tired of missing out on their children growing up. Or maybe they are sick and tired of seeing their boss more than they see their family. Everyone has their own reason for wanting more time and they will share it with you if you ask. People love talking about themselves.
If they want to lose weight, ask them why. Is it for health reasons? Is to look better? Both?
What ever it is they want, find out why they want it.
Now before you offer anything to them. Make sure that your product/service or opportunity can solve it.
If you are in health and wellness and your prospect wants to lose 3 dress sizes in time for her sister’s wedding in 2 days, you probably can’t help her.
If your prospect wants to make 3 million dollars in one week then your opportunity probably can’t help. It doesn’t matter how good your opportunity is.
If you prospect is realistic, you can help them.
This is how you offer it to them so it is irresistible.
If I could show you how to get (what they want) so you can (why they want it) would you want to see how that would work?
If they guy wants an extra k a month so his wife could stay home with the kids the offer would sound like this.
If I could show you how to get an extra k a month so your wife could stay home with the kids would you want to see how that works?
If I could show you how you could lose 20 pounds in the next month so you could feel good and look good at your sisters wedding, would you want to see how that works?
If I could show you how to make an extra k so that you could finally take your wife on that honeymoon you promised her and see the Trevi Fountain in Rome, would you want to see how it works?
Do you see the pattern. Once you know the formula it gets quite easy.
Notice the psychology of the question at the end. “would you want to see how it works?” Not “would you want to join my business?”
Once you’ve built curiosity then make sure that you keep control of yourself. You don’t want to ruin your prospecting by doing a presentation to early. Keep them wanting more. I spoke about that in my last video here: https://youtu.be/su4opJ-yLRk
